Glauben Joh. 11:25 (D-russisch)

He who believes in Me […] shall live.

John 11:25

Such a short statement, yet so rich in substance and far-reaching!

Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He says of himself: “I am … the life (John 14:6). He is God the Creator, who “gives to all life, breath, and all things” (Acts 17:25). He is the source and fount of life; therefore, he alone has the power to give life.

However, people chose the devil because they turned away from God. Sin entered the world and with sin death (Romans 5:12). All people are subject to the devil’s slavery and thus live in fear of death (Hebrews 2:15).

Death also happened in Bethany. Jesus Christ stands at the freshly dug grave of his friend Lazarus. The two sisters mourn, and Jesus talks to Martha about life! He has a powerful message that whoever lives and believes in HIM shall never die. Death does not have the last word – one does not need to fear death anymore. Can that be true? People still die daily – is it now not true what Jesus has said?

IT IS TRUE! He said: “…though he may die, he shall live.” This is the death that people still die today. However, the verse does not end here because he continues: “…whoever lives” – this is the new life from God (John 3:3-8) – “and believes in Me shall never die.” Such a person does not need to fear eternal death (Revelation 20:12-15).

How is this possible? Jesus Christ, as the pure and holy one, took our sins upon himself and was punished by God himself at the cross of Calvary. Now God offers forgiveness to everyone who confesses their sins. The substitutional sacrifice of Christ – that of the Lamb of God – forever absolves the person who believes on him.

The one who believes in Jesus Christ will live in eternity! Please come to the Lord Jesus and receive eternal life from him!
